THE SYMBOL OF THE CAPITAL'S HOSPITALITY.
Very close to the most famous sights of Moscow - memorial complex "Poklonnaya Gora", "Triumfalnaya Arka" (Triumphal Arch), and museum - panorama "Borodinskaya bitva" (Borodino battle) - the new club-restaurant "Sudar" is situated. For the three years of it's existence the restaurant has become a symbol of Russian hospitality.
"Hello dear sudar and sudarynya!" - this is the way "Sudar"' guests are greeted. When one gets in the restaurant after noisy Kutuzovsky prospect, an interior of which is made in the style of the end of XVIII - the beginning of XIX century, one feels that time seems to stand still. The huge stained glass windows with the views of old Moscow, etchings from the famous princes Usupov's collection presented to the restaurant by the Arkhangelskoye museum, oak tables and benches, waiters dressed in clothes according to the French fashion of XIX century - all this creates the unique atmosphere of successful and unhurried life of Moscow merchants. Fiery Gipsy melodies, sincere Russian romantic songs, frivolous cabaret and of course wonderful Russian cuisine coincides with the name and the spirit of the restaurant which's slogan is short enough: " Let's have fun ala Russia!"
It's impossible to imagine real Russian fun without plentiful, delicious meals and lavish libations. The directors of the restaurant Igor Ovchinnikov and chef Evgeniy Seleznev spend a lot of time in the archives of the biggest Moscow libraries and St.-Petersburg searching for the old and forgotten recipes of Russian cuisine. In earlier times the merchants used to invite chefs from abroad. A foreigner as a rule adopted Russian gastronomical traditions very quickly and enriched them with his own experience. So a lot of refined dishes flavored with various sauces appeared.
This is the strange combination that gave birth to the Russian cuisine well known all over the world. At "Sudar" you will get an opportunity to try the best of dishes of Russian cuisine . Here are some quotations from the menu: "Fried partridge with salad leaves under delicate cranberry sauce", "Pokhlebka made of white mushrooms with ushki", "Sterlet ala czar baked whole on a dish", "Calf's kidneys in a white wine with artichokes and Е", "Pozharskiye" cutlets with the green asparagus according to the old butler's recipe"Е It causes an appetite even while you are reading it!
"Sudar'"s wine card is very competent. It even has such rarities from Bordeaux as Chateau Calon Segur 1990, Chateau Palmer 1993 and Chateau Angelus 1993. One can order various cocktails as well.
The restaurant has two dining halls - a large one for 100 people and a smaller private one for VIP clients. One can celebrate one's birthday or have a big bachelor party! Another advantage of "Sudar" is that one can dance the night away after the superb dining!
